Once primarily a farming center, Greenville is growing into a center of suburban residential growth but many vestiges of Floyd County’s past remain unscathed.  The rural countryside boasts an outstanding collection of 19th century farmhouses and country churches, including several structures in the Federal, Greek Revival and Victorian styles.
