Jeffersonville is the county seat and has an estimated population of 27,362.  It’s a hot spot for big business, including the U.S. Census Bureau, American Commercial Barge Lines, Kitchen Kompact, Inc.,  Jeffboat, Summit Trucking, MKM Machine Tool Co., Inc. and others.  Jeffersonville offers historic architecture and a bustling downtown, in addition to new developing subdivisions.
